This injection is administered as an intravenous infusion into a vein or as a subcutaneous injection under the skin. The nivolumab injection works by blocking the PD-1 protein on T-cells that help to reduce cancer growth. Also, it can activate the immune system to recognise and attack the cancer cells inside the body.
